we're here for emergencies

Life happens and so do dental emergencies. That’s why Dr. Vineyard offers same-day care to quickly ease your pain and save your teeth.

we offer second opinions

Dr. Vineyard has many patients come in after another doctor told them they need a tooth extracted but she can save it. She can often preserve teeth that others might extract to do what’s best for your smile.

We have fun

We’ll take your mind off the reason for your visit and have fun instead. Once we relieve your pain, you’ll be smiling right along with us.

We tell you what to expect

1: getting ready

Dr. Vineyard starts by setting up a safe and clean environment by prepping all equipment with state-of-the-art sterilization techniques.

2: Visualizing your tooth

She will take a specialized xray which will show the tiny details inside of your tooth. This not only allows her to diagnose your unique situation accurately, but also allows for more predictable treatment outcomes (if treatment is even needed).

3. Checking your tooth

Dr. Vineyard will examine your tooth and discuss any findings noted in your advanced xray. A root canal is not always required, and we want to make sure we are accurately diagnosing your individual issues before recommending any type of treatment.

4: Making you comfortable

If treatment is recommended, she'll gently numb the area around the infected tooth with a local anesthesia. Just a pinch then you’ll be relaxed and pain-free for a comfortable procedure.

5: accessing the tooth

We create a tiny opening in the top of the tooth. She uses a high-powered microscope to see all the little details of your tooth, and make sure all nerve spaces are located and cleaned.

6: Cleaning & Shaping

Dr. Vineyard cleans the "root canals" located inside of your tooth. Your tooth and roots remain in place, we simply clean the spaces inside of the tooth where the nerve used to be.

7: Removing the infection

She flushes the canals with disinfecting solutions to clear out any remaining bacteria. The ultrasonic tools help ensure the solution cleans even hard to reach areas.

8: preventing future issues

We fill the cleaned canals with a safe, biocompatible material and seal them tightly. With the high-powered microscope, we confirm every canal is perfectly filled to prevent future infection.

9: restoring the tooth

In most cases, Dr. Vineyard will place a protective seal over the root canal filling, and then a temporary filling to seal the top of the tooth. This will allow your dentist to check the structure of your tooth before a final seal is placed. You will need to see your general dentist after the root canal procedure in order to place a final filling and/or crown. In certain cases, we can place the permanent filling on the same day for you, if requested.
